Padi is an online platform to help system integrators and facility managers manage the plethora of smart devices, systems and cloud services that they need to use to engineer and operate commercial buildings and facilities.
The platform integrates web-based interfaces into a single secure, well organized single pane of glass user interface, delivered in a browser. Some examples of systems being integrated include BAS device management and configuration, gateways, graphical user interfaces, analytics systems, maintenance systems, dashboards, as well as non-BAS content and applications from the Internet.
Padi is designed to be metadata-aware, it will be able to detect if a device or service adheres to one or more metadata-centric standards, and will present relevant information to users based on available metadata. So ultimately, when Padi encounters, say, a Haystack server, Padi can automatically create the necessary UI for the user for that server’s sites, equipment, and analytics.
A critical part of Padi is that it is inherently collaborative, allowing parts or all of the system to be shared with other individuals, be they work colleagues, clients, vendors or partners. With Padi, collaborators can work together to engineer and manage the system; they can also use Padi as a problem-solving tool to bring in experts in the specific area of work when needed.
Padi is brandable, by creating branded web portals for system integrators and facility managers. Such branded sites will enable the control of users and content to satisfy the requirements of the portal site owner. A facility-centric portal, for example, would only include pages reflecting the systems in that given facility, and just to be used by authorized users.
